The Learning Designer is responsible for developing and designing learning solutions that are in line with established and emerging best practices, that meet business requirements and are suitable for multi-channel delivery (for example, eLearning, face to face, virtual, or on-the-job).

Job Description

As the Learning Designer, your role is pivotal in crafting exceptional learning solutions and resources utilising contemporary instructional design methodologies. Your aim is to enhance performance and foster the development of leadership and technical capabilities within the organisation. You meticulously design high-quality instructional materials for online learning programs, leveraging storyboarding techniques to ensure clarity and engagement.

You will:

  • Identify target audiences and work with the team Leads and Head of HR and Training to identify specific training needs.
  • Identify and implement continual improvement to learning programs, resources and activities.
  • Bring learning content to life through the design and development of engaging and creative learning experiences to complement a contemporary learning delivery approach.
  • Ensure delivery and output is aligned to the Training and Development Plan, and the priorities of the wider HR and Training team.
  • Establish ongoing data collection to measure the impact, effectiveness, and return on investment of L&D initiatives, and create insights that inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leverage feedback, research, insights and data to identify opportunities for improvement, change or adjustment, applying an innovative approach to leveraging these.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of learning and instructional design best practice, technology and innovations.
  • Source and collaborate with external learning partners to deliver exceptional, best practice learning solutions/outcomes.
  • Develop, manage and maintain a high service level client relationship through the provision of services that meet or exceed the expectations of Defence and the DFR Adecco contract, further encouraging a strong and ongoing relationship between Adecco and the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders throughout the business, including Subject Matter Experts, Managers and Leads, Executive and Senior Management and our client.
  • Creation of assessments and evaluation methods.

Candidate’s Profile

If you have worked in a similar position or just looking for your next opportunity that will make an impact, we want to speak with you.

Your background will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Experience in developing engaging learning solutions across multiple delivery channels (eLearning, face-to-face, virtual, etc.).
  • At least 12 months experience in e-learning design, including experience with Storyline.
  • Strong skills in storyboarding and creating high-quality instructional materials.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments and collaborate with stakeholders to identify training requirements.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the field of learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for driving organizational growth and development through effective learning initiatives.
