Join our team dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals living with disabilities. We are an ethical not for profit registered NDIS provider.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated NDIS Support Workers to join our team in providing personalised support to individuals living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and in their own homes in the community.

Multiple roles are available, offering flexible hours ranging from 8 to 30 hours per week with sites in the north, south and central metropolitan areas. Allocated services will be subject to availability of worker and client preference.

As a VIVA Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting our clients to live a life of their choosing while promoting their health, well-being, and inclusion within the community.

Permanent Part Time or Casual Positions available.

Supported Independent Living roles will be filled by matching a candidate to a set roster along with client preferences and the needs of the site. Applicants seeking SIL hours will be required to be available for the full set roster to be successful.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household chores.

Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, choice, and dignity for all clients.

Assist individuals in developing and achieving their personal goals and aspirations, as outlined in their NDIS plans.

Support clients in participating in community-based activities, social outings, and recreational pursuits, promoting social inclusion and integration.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals, case managers, and family members, to ensure holistic and coordinated support.

Maintain accurate documentation and records of support provided, including progress notes and incident reports, in compliance with organizational and NDIS guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or a related field (or willingness to obtain).

Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, preferably within the disability or aged care sector, with a focus on supporting individuals with complex behaviours and high physical support needs.

Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and principles, with experience in implementing individualized support plans for individuals with complex needs.

Knowledge and experience in ABC (Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence) reporting, restrictive practice, and positive behaviour support strategies.

Proficiency in manual handling practices and techniques, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both individuals and staff.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with individuals, families, and support networks.

Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.

Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred).

Successful completion of the NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undergo and obtain clearance prior to commencing employment.
