Australian Plastic Profiles / Pipe King Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of PVC pressure pipes, fittings, profiles and conduits for the building and telecommunications industries. The group has been operating for fifty years and is proudly Australian owned and managed. The company has a national presence with production centred in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. 

Brief

The Maintenance Manager leads the Maintenance Section in supporting the production facilities of the Sydney plant. The Maintenance Manager plans and schedules all corrective repairs and maintenance requirements while collaborating closely with Production, Toolroom, Projects and other section leaders. 

The Role

• Developing maintenance plans coordinated with production requirements and which ensure continuous improvement and a minimisation of downtime
• Manage and develop Maintenance Section members by setting clear responsibilities and goals
• Manage the work schedules and rosters for the section
• Ensuring compliance with all APP Work Health Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems and procedures
• Creating timely reports for senior managers to facilitate whole site operation and improvements 
• Manage the planning, scheduling and execution of the annual shutdown
• Maintaining effective communication channels with all stakeholders to minimise disruptions
• Manage contractors and ensure that contractors meet APP’s system requirements 

About You

• Minimum five years of demonstrated leadership experience in an industrial/production/facility or manufacturing projects environment.
• Engineering qualification or relevant trade qualification is essential.
• Proficiency in use of SAP or other ERP and CMMS planning system such as MEX
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Great people skills and experience in leading trade qualified teams
• Aptitude for problem solving. 
• Commitment to excellent WHS standards and practice.
