URGENT CARE CLINIC VR GENERAL PRACTITIONER - BUNDABERG - CASUAL

IWC has an exciting opportunity for a VR General Practitioner to join our Urgent Care Clinic team (UCC) on a casual basis. Become part of a pivotal moment in the advancement of the standard of healthcare accessibility for the people of Bundaberg. The clinic is supported by onsite nursing, and clinical staff, pathology, and imaging. 

ABOUT IWC:

IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation that delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett. 

ABOUT THE POSITION: 

The Urgent Care Clinic will provide treatment to category 4 and 5 emergency patients within the Bundaberg Region. 

We are looking for local GP's who are wanting additional hours of work, in the evenings or on weekends and public holidays. 

Generous shift loadings apply to hours worked on weekends and public holidays. 

DUTIES: 

  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients with urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening. 
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the UCC clinical team.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Work with culturally diverse client groups.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Emergency department or emergency care experience is preferred, but not essential. 
  • Fellowship of the RACGP, RACEM or ACRRM.
  • Current full registration with AHPRA.
  • Bachelor of Medicine.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays. 
  • A current driver's licence is essential or ability to obtain. 
  • A First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.
  • A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.

* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate.
