IGS Early Learners is a new, purpose-built long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep. 

Operated by Ipswich Grammar School, the centre opened in January 2024 and provides exceptional care, specialist kindergarten programs and a nurturing environment that allows children to be supported and fostered in their growth and development.

The role of Educator is to facilitate the care, growth and development of children at the centre from 6 weeks to five years of age. This includes both the physical care of children, in addition to the welfare needs of children contributing to a positive, supporting and engaging environment.

The Educator will be responsible to:

• Work with the Lead Educator to implement the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs that are reflective of an approved learning framework; the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF); 
• Assist to ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the EYLF to help children develop a strong sense of their identity, connections with their world, strong sense of wellbeing confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills;
• Be aware of the Lead Educator’s daily and weekly planning and objectives and assist with planning to meet these objectives; 
• Have an understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, IGS Early Learners’ policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the service meets all compliance obligations; 
• Care for the physical and emotional needs of babies, toddlers and children at the centre, relevant to their age and development; and 
• Undertake general tasks to contribute to the overall operation of the centre.

Qualifications and Experience 

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

As a condition of employment, all non-teaching staff are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and are required to maintain their Blue Card for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
