Carpenter (Maintenance)
Our team in WA has an opportunity for a Carpenter to join our family orientated and vibrant team.
At AWB Co we work across WA & SA on various government and commercial contracts undertaking everything from day-to-day maintenance through to quoted works.
The good thing is, there is no need to come into the office every morning. We operate via a mobile field-based system; you can leave your house to arrive at your first job for the morning.
Our carpenters carry out work inclusive of the following:
- General breakdown, scheduled and preventative carpentry works like hanging doors, installing door hardware, installing plasterboard, repairing ceilings, etc
- Carry out carpentry works on small minor work projects
- Minor scoping and preparation of works, be able to read plans and drawings
- Measuring and ordering of materials in preparation of works.
- Be able to use iPhone, IPad to organise your schedule
- A good problem-solver and have an all-round construction knowledge
- Have a good level of fitness and a good punctual track record
- Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers/clients
Successful candidate will be required to go on a call roster for after hours call outs (retainer and allowances paid)

Preferred candidates will have the following:
- Current trade qualification as carpenter
- 5+ years’ experience
- Past experience working on government maintenance contracts or in the commercial sector would be highly regarded.
- Driver’s licence
- Police clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- White card or the ability to obtain one.
- The ability to operate effectively within a team and work unsupervised.
- High work standards
- Own Carpentry trade tools. Any speciality tools will be provided by AWB.
- Excellent IT and verbal communication skills
- A strong commitment to safety
- Familiarity with utilising online/mobile job management systems such as SimPRO/Aroflow/Service M8 would be highly regarded
