The Organisation  

The practice is a well-established busy dental practice located in Newcastle. Offering a suite of general dental services, we pride ourselves on providing a high standard of customer service and quality dental care to our patients. We have worked hard to create a supportive, team focused environment and work together each day to reach a common goal of uncompromising patient care and attention to detail. This dynamic and progressive business is seeking a Practice Manager to lead and manage the other coordinators and work alongside the Principal Dentist to manage, co-ordinate and grow this general dental business.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Practice Manager, with a focus on genuine patient care, you will manage both front and back of practice to ensure the smooth and productive running of all day-to-day activities within the practice. You will set the standard for dental assisting, front of house and sterilisation processes and be responsible for training dental assistants/front desk staff. 

 

The role will involve:

  • Leadership traits including reliability, initiative, accountability; and understanding people and how to build an empowered team culture.
  • A positive outlook to busy days requiring flexibility with hours and tasks and an easy and happy disposition with a natural ability to effectively manage staff, patients and visitors.
  • Being organised and understanding prioritisation such as appointment conflicts with dependencies (e.g., lab work, surgical procedures with appropriate staff mix etc…), management of staff (e.g., rosters, training, inductions, mentoring and reviews) as well as overall control and maintenance of sterilisation processes
  • Having attention to detail as it involves management of stock levels, accounts receivable, patient payment plans and maintenance of accreditation requirements and governance requirements
  • Understanding practice budgets to issue, track and report on financials, measuring stock forecasting, wastage, efficiencies and other business KPIs. 
  • Experience with Dental Practice Management Software (e.g., Dental4/D4W, Oasis, Ultimo, Exact etc…) and competency in processing and troubleshooting payment, booking and insurance systems (eg. EFTPOS, HICAPS, Afterpay Excel etc…) and accurate data entry 
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in managing patients, dental suppliers and labs.
  • Management of HR, team performance and team culture in a mature and composed manner.
