Registered Nurse - Part time
Position title: Registered Nurse -General Practice
Reports to: Practice Principal
Responsibilities:
Clinical
Perform clinical duties within required level of clinical competency, according to best available evidence. Duties include: triage, immunisations and other injections, wound management,
chronic disease management, ECGs, Spirometry, and collection of pathology samples.
Risk management, including sharps injury, Cold Chain Process, infection control, sterilisation process and environmental cleaning.
Assist doctors with clinical procedures and maintain clinical documentation.
Explain procedures to patients, providing them with support and reassurance.
Patient Services
Assist with triage, data management, diagnostic services, networking with other providers, planning and management of patient care and patient advocacy.
Children’s Vaccinations as per the Australian Immunisation Program
Telephoning patients with test results as directed by medical staff.
Booking Patient appointments when required.
Improvement of Patient Health Outcomes
Conduct preventative/screening procedures.
Assist with patient education and community health promotion activities.
Coordinate patient recall and outreach programs, GP management plans, and team care arrangements.
Practice Nurse requirements are:
- AHPRA registration
- Registered Nurse (EN or EEN are not accepted)
- Immunisation provider certificate
- Best Practice or equivalent medical software experience
- Must be able to multi-task and be very organised in a busy environment
