Founded in 1964, Canadian based Conviron are the only manufacturer singularly focused on the technology and science of plant growth in controlled environments and we seek an enthusiastic Service Technician to join our Australian team. 

As a Conviron Plant Growth Chambers Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support and maintenance services for Conviron plant growth chambers. You will troubleshoot customer issues, conduct on-site visits, and ensure the efficient operation of Conviron products. This role requires a strong understanding of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot customer problems via telephone, email, and on-site visits.
• Receive initial customer contact and determine their needs and concerns.
• Research problem/case history/warranty information using computerized databases for relevant repair/product/customer information.
• Organize and supervise installations of Conviron plant growth chambers.
• Diagnose technical problems associated with refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, and determine appropriate action.
• Take required action to resolve customer concerns, including ordering and shipping required parts, seeing them through to successful completion, and verifying success through follow-up.
• Provide regular training to customers in the operation and maintenance of Conviron plant growth chambers.
• Support internal customers, such as Installations and Sales, by resolving various technical and customer issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in refrigeration, controls/BMS, or electronics is highly desirable.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel, including interstate travel (approximately 50%).

Working Conditions

• Hybrid working environment from both the Geelong office and home, with frequent client site visits.
• Occasional work in challenging environments such as greenhouse facilities or laboratories.
• Some lifting and physical activity may be required during installations and maintenance tasks.
