Female Mental Health Support Worker - Supported Independent Living
About the Role
We are looking for female Mental Health Support Workers to join our team working with people with mental health challenges in our Supported Independent Living programs.
In this role you will be working directly with people living with complex trauma, and psycho-social challenges. Your flexibility across a 24/7 roster will help provide consistent, holistic support for individuals to build their capacity and achieve their goals. This includes sleep overs and some weekend work.

Skills and experience
- Certificate IV in Community Service/Disability Services or equivalent qualification with equivalent experience in the disability or mental health, OOHC sectors.
- A responsible attitude and strong rapport building skills – strong skills in maintaining positive, dignified and respectful relationships with participants, their families and other health and support workers.
- Ability to use clear and concise language in verbal communication and set clear boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to calmly de-escalate emotive situations.
- Ability to apply understanding of ‘duty of care’ to delivering support services and escalate issues when required.
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain accurate written records and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
Mental Health Support Worker roles for persons of a particular gender are to meet the needs of the participants in accordance with an exemption granted from sections 8, 10, 25, 27 & 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
To support the safety of our participants and staff, applicants are required, as per the We Care NSW Health and Wellbeing Program, to provide evidence of COVID 19 full vaccination (3 doses) status unless a medical exemption is provided.
