The Opportunity:
Due to ongoing growth, we are now seeking an Estimator with extensive experience in Steel Fabrication. This role is client facing & will be the driving force in shaping innovative solutions for our quarry and mining clients!
Responsibilities may include:
- Working with clients to provide practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Negotiating and confirming prices and rates with sub-contractors and suppliers
- Estimating from first principles
- Preparation of Scope of Works for D&C projects
- Attending sites to understand Client requirements and gather information to enable estimates to be undertaken.
- Determining and assessing any financial, technical, or execution risks of the project
- Working closely with our workshop and site teams to ensure effective handover and execution to meet client expectations.
- Engineering qualification or Trade background
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with people on all levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise tasks
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- 10yrs+ experience in a steel fabrication workshop environment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and a can-do attitude.
- Autodesk Inventor experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong work ethic. High level of customer attention
- Exposure to mechanical plant and equipment estimating highly desirable.
- Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
- Experience in Project Management would be highly desirable!
