Qualifications & experience

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
  • A qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related field or working towards.
  • Experience with a commercially recognised finance software program (eg Reckon, MYOB or Xero) or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • To work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Accurately recording financial transactions in the general ledger using appropriate accounting software.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
  • Accounts Payable - Processing incoming invoices, verifying accuracy. Reviewing and reconciling vendor statements, addressing discrepancies and ensuring timely payments. Collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and issues. Preparing and scheduling payments.
  • Accounts Receivable - raising fortnightly fees and adjusting as required. Reconciling to monthly Payment Statement.
  • Cash flow management, monthly journals, including depreciation & asset register.
  • Reconcile bank accounts including Term Deposits.
  • Assist with fortnightly Payroll, including A/L & LSL, Super, PAYG.
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Prepare board reports, providing key financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, (including P&L and Balance Sheet).
  • Liaise with care recipient/representatives, suppliers, and external stakeholders for accounts and administration related queries.
