Our life insurance client is seeking an actuarial analyst to join their team in a role working across reserving, performing actuarial calculations, advanced technical skills, and the ability to contribute to key financial decisions.

About the role

• Provide support for the in-housing of actuarial models, including preparing specifications, ongoing support in refining and maintaining the models
• Ongoing support in refining and maintaining the models Lead co-ordination of the review and analysis of pricing strategies
• Contribute to the management and validation policy data, ensuring accuracy and integrity for actuarial calculations
• Support the actuarial function in assessing and mitigating insurance and financial risks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including products, underwriting, claims, finance, and data. Contributing in key projects and forums where actuarial input is required

About you

• Minimum 1 year experience in life insurance 
• Currently studying towards becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia 
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of or experience in Python and database programming (SQL) are desirable
• Developed experience in and knowledge of retail life insurance, ideally within the Australian marketplace. 
• Strong communication and presentation skills and experience working with senior stakeholders
