Mentor – Transition to Work
This role is full time based in Launceston.

This position will suit someone who can build a rapport quickly with young people, someone who is confident and fun, someone who has excellent computer skills.  We will provide you with everything you need to succeed in this role.  

Due to an increase in our caseloads, we need to add to our current team and are seeking a positive and dynamic Mentor.  Our Transition to Work (TtW) program provides tailored support for young people 15-24 years old to assist them into employment or education. You will have the opportunity to work with people one on one to develop their work readiness but also organise and facilitate group activities to develop interpersonal and teamwork skills.

About Us:
National Joblink (NJL) is a not-for-profit organisation serving local communities for over 30 years throughout TAS, QLD & the Northern Territory.  Today we provide a suite of services under the framework of Workforce Australia, are a specialised RTO, have a successful training restaurant in Cairns, provide outdoor activities at our Tarkine Wilderness Lodge and a Driving School.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A genuine desire to assist participants to achieve their education and employment goals
  • Understand and have a demonstrated knowledge of the local cohort 
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of participants to referral services
  • Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders
  • Exceptionally good time management skills to balance administration with participant engagement
  • Work well in a small team to build creative solutions and achieve combined KPI's
  • Sound digital literacy skills utilising different software platforms for reporting as well as Microsoft 365 (Word/Excel & Outlook)
