About The Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and drive new business opportunities for our Grounds and Open Space business in NSW and ACT. Our Grounds business offers a variety of services including grounds and open space infrastructure maintenance, horticulture, irrigation/water management and long-term maintenance with goal of not only aesthetically pleasing grounds, but long-term solutions for our clients. This is a key role in which you will be based out of Auburn branch but join our high performing sales team that operate across Australia, building strong relationships and finding commercial solutions to secure business.

This is a newly created and permanent full-time position that offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact at work with the support to build a rewarding career while balancing your passions. Our Business Development Manager’s drive sales growth by selling high value long term contracts working in parallel to our national and state strategic goals. 

Leveraging your strong relationship building skills and solution-oriented approach to business development, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Use your industry contacts and knowledge to drive new business.
  • Deliver exceptional customer relationship management.
  • Partner with clients and operations teams to achieve organic growth and retention objectives.
  • Continually improve strategies and processes to increase performance.
  • Develop, write and present persuading proposals and bid responses and costings.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated professional with a ‘can-do’ attitude, knack for people engagement and a drive for top-notch service delivery gained through exceptional business development experience. A background or strong knowledge of horticulture, grounds, landscaping or open space is essential to this role. 

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Highly developed communication and robust stakeholder engagement ability
  • Drive to succeed and results focused within business development
  • Ability to maintain a strong and profitable sales pipeline
  • Proficient in cross-selling, negotiations and closing deals
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint)
