 About the Role:

The Registered Nurse Level 2 role is the next step in your nursing career, offering a higher level of responsibility and will support our team.

Be supported by your team in a clinical leadership role at Uniting AgeWell Aldersgate Kings Meadows. 

Provide care to residents with complex needs such as palliative care, dementia support, restorative care and pain management, a level one registered nurse is responsible for a level of administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Deliver high quality nursing skills to residents and support their families, with consideration for cultural, spiritual and individual needs
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care to maximise choice and quality of lifestyle for each resident in accordance with UA policies and Aged Care standards
  • Under direction from the Senior Care Manager or Care Manager, ensure compliance with AN-ACC and Accreditation requirements is maintained
  • Provide leadership, support, orientation and education to all care staff including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Extended Care assistants 
  • Promote a harmonious team approach by acting as a role model in coordinating daily routines and adhering to safe practice measures in medication management
  • Collaborate with the Residential Services Manager and Senior Care Manager daily to support the team, residents and families
  • Permanent full time position

About You:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents to support them to live life to their potential!

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Div 1
  • Experienced as a registered nurse in residential aged care/ home care (preferred)
  • Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired)
  • Proficiency in decision making, critical analysis and on the spot problem solving
  • Demonstrated abilities to delegate and prioritise in a fast paced environment with exemplary communication skills in a team and one on one interactions
  • Availability to commit to a permanent position 
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

  • Current and required flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • A current Working With Vulnerable People Card
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance
