About the role

Working part-time within the Legal Operations function, the Document Creation Specialist and Float Legal Assistant plays an important role as a member of our dedicated Word Processing team assisting our professional staff to continue to provide an excellent client service. 

The primary focus of this role is the Document Creation Specialist function, assisting with legal admin duties as and when required. 

Playing a key part in maintaining the smooth running of the firm, you will undertake duties including, but not limited to:

  • Transcribing digital dictations.
  • Creating, editing and formatting Word documents using firm styles and templates.
  • Comparing documents.
  • Formatting contracts, deeds and leases.
  • Working with Excel documents – printing, formatting etc.
  • Creating and editing Power Point presentations.
  • Training employees on how to use Word and PowerPoint and our firm styles.
  • Picking up routine Legal Assistant administrative tasks to assist our Support Hub, including – scanning and filing, printing, eLodgment, and a variety of file management administration tasks.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience working in a Word Processing role in a professional service environment.
  • A minimum of typing speed of 80 wpm.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within available time frames.
  • A strong communicator, both in writing and spoken communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess a sound knowledge of legal documentation.
  • Advanced Word skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and document management systems.

Previous experience with a commercial law firm is desirable.
