Care1 is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable team members to provide high-quality disability and care support to a care recipient with an acquired brain injury based in Cronulla NSW.

The specifics: 

Weekday PM shifts (3-11pm), sleepovers and some active nights, as well as shifts with other care recipients close by.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for providing comfort to our clients by assisting with the requirements and activities of daily living as set out in their individual care plans. This may include:

  • Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs
  • Personal care: bowel care, showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
  • Domestic assistance: light housework (cleaning, laundry and meal preparation)
  • Supporting clients who use personal equipment/aid, this may include walking or standing frames, wheelchairs, hoists
  • Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress
  • Social Activities: transporting clients to their appointments, shopping, any planned social activity.

Essential Criteria

  • Right to Work in Australia such as passport, visa, birth certificate
  • Current valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before employment
  • NDISWC
  • Working with Children Check
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Digital Certificate

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with clients who display challenging and complex behaviours
  • Experience providing complex personal care
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disabilities or similar is desirable (willingness and the ability to obtain is essential)
  • Previous healthcare or community welfare experience is an advantage along with a genuine desire to support people to live a higher quality of life will be highly regarded.
