Our facilities are custom-made for neurodiverse families. The CliniKids team is made up of world-class researchers and exceptional clinicians that put research into practice.  Established in 2019, the clinic unites research and therapy supports delivered through an integrated team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Clinical Psychologists.

The Opportunity

  • Working with the world leading CliniKids Autism Research at Telethon Kids Institute, led by Professor Andrew Whitehouse, and be part of a specialised model of care that allows for the translation of cutting-edge research into innovative and individualised practices.
  • Be part of the prompt translation of new intervention-research findings into practice and be instrumental in closing the gap between research and the delivery of truly evidence-based therapies.
  • Soak up the opportunity to focus your clinical skills and develop specialised knowledge of autism.
  • Work with a team of researchers, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists where everyone’s career matters and everyone has variety in their workday – where all staff get the opportunity to learn a researched specific therapy approach.
  • Refine your skills and become a trainer or facilitator of workshops to ensure we are instrumental in making the research come to life and spread the word of best practice as widely as possible.
  • Be supported by streamlined processes, swift intuitive systems and reduced administration tasks that remove the burden of non-therapy related tasks.
  • Work from modern purpose built and extremely well-resourced clinic rooms as well as in the family home, school or community when required.

This position will be based in Subiaco/Joondalup and offered on a full-time basis for 2 years in the first instance. Part-time will be considered for the right applicant.

About You

The key to your success will be your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Specific clinical experience and passion for working with young children with autism or developmental delay, and a sound knowledge of autism and its impact.
  • An understanding of evidenced based interventions in autism and familiarity with the National Guidelines for supporting the learning, participation, and wellbeing of autistic children and their families in Australia.
  • A strong work ethic with a flexible, collaborative team approach and proven success in engaging teams and families in therapy.
  • Demonstrated innovation and passion for ongoing professional development.
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Eligible for a Medicare provider number and as a provider for NDIA.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to your own car when needed.
