The Role                

Based in our brand-new distribution centre in Truganina, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced DC (Distribution Centre) Administration Assistant to join our team!

In conjunction with the DC Administrations Manager, you will play a critical role in assisting with the administrative operations of the distribution centre for all Austin Group brands and their customers.  This position plays an integral role in building effective relationships with external and internal customers.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Understands, adheres to, and works towards meeting their WHS responsibilities as directed by Austin Group Health & Safety Policies/Human Resources Policies
  • Ensure the correct use of any MHE and tools used in the DC follow Austin Group Health & Safety Policies/Human Resources
  • Participate in daily TBTs to understand and discuss Health & Safety topics
  • Help to assist in start of shift warm up exercise sessions
  • Assist with any documentation for processing, development and maintenance of SOPs and daily reporting
  • Assisting with inventory control/ stock checks/ cycle counting and investigating stock abnormalities where required
  • Respond to all internal/external enquires to the DC using phone, email or MS Teams
  • Assist in booking timeslots for deliveries / collections, creating transport bookings via online portals and filing of relevant paperwork
  • Assist in maintaining stock & inventory controls, pick checks, and creating stock take reports
  • General administration duties as required including filing export documents and generating connotes and manifest
  • Ordering of DC consumables, coordinating maintenance contractors and general requests from management
  • Serving as a point of contact between different departments within the DC, as well as with external vendors, freight providers, and customers
  • Assisting DC teams with daily tasks as required
  • Undertaking additional duties as directed by Senior Management

 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar DC administrative role.
  • Previous experience in apparel warehousing (highly desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Sound Analytical capabilities
  • Accuracy with daily tasks
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a resourceful approach to completing tasks
  • Knowledge of and experience in general office practice
  • High proficiency in the use of MS Office and Warehouse Management Systems
