Goodwin Submersible Pumps Australia was established in 2014 as a subsidiary of Goodwin PLC in the UK, a multinational engineering & manufacturing company.

We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join our Australia team. Based in Perth for servicing mining & heavy industry clients in the central and northern regions throughout WA

Qualifications & experience

  • Trade qualified (mechanical or electrical) with a demonstrated understanding of the Submersible pumps market would be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years track record in the sales & marketing of pumps
  • Have a solid network established within the WA mining industry
  • Strong relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills will be essential for the role
  • Well-developed skills in new business development, sales and negotiation
  • A road warrior who is fit & able to travel around the WA northern regions i.e. Gascoyne, Mid-West, Pilbara & remote sites on a regular basis consistently
  • Competence using Microsoft Office suite and also maintaining a CRM
  • Hold a current Australian driver's license.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to our Director in Brisbane. You will have the opportunity to use your exceptional customer skills to develop relationships with new and existing clients, enabling you to work with them and achieve common goals
  • Developing new opportunities, meeting KPI’s and Sales Targets will be key together with aligning with Goodwin strategic plans. 
  • Previous experience within the WA mining industry, a proven sales background, the ability to read and interpret process flow sheets and pump curves are all considered a must have

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Having a hunter attitude to find and generate opportunities for new business growth 
  • Prospecting to grow sales in the Central and Northern WA regions
  • Maintain regular and efficient F2F visits with customers in your areas
  • Have technical competence to assess pumping applications & duties
  • Troubleshoot, size, and select pumps & pumping accessories for clients 
  • Prepare quotes in accordance with company sales and pricing policy
