About the role:

This is a 12-months fixed term contract. The role provides engineering support including technical design, analysis of component, engineering, checking and sign off. 

Specifically, you will:

• Design and engineer mechanical equipment and systems for bulk materials handling applications 
• Diagnose root cause of issues and make sound recommendations to resolve
• Supporting the department with ongoing designs and calculations for upgrades and improvements on existing product portfolio 
• Ensure all designs conform to relevant Australian Standards (or other applicable local standards), as well as internal guidelines and customer/project specifications, while proactively managing and communicating technical risks 
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders at all stages of the process to ensure clear communications of expectations and deliver on customer requirements 
• Write and maintain technical reports to cater for broad audiences
• Prepare client tender documentation
• Ensure achievement of project delivery to quality, schedule, and budget.
• Utilise manual calculations, Finite Element Analysis and other engineering tools to create, assess and improve mechanical designs
• CAD drawing creation and review using Inventor and Autocad platforms

To be successful in the above duties, You will have:

• Australian recognised Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent 
• 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
• Experienced in applying Australian Standards in design
• Ability to understand and interpret technical specs, and deliver results to sustain or improve asset lifespan
• Thorough understanding of fabrication process and design for fabrication
• Ability to independently carry out structural static FEA on mechanical equipment
• Proficient in MS Office including MS Project
• Sound technical report writing skills
• Excellent customer relationship skills
• Mineral processing exposure desirable
