The Role

This role is responsible for provision of configuration support for current projects and is a direct report of the Configuration Manager for Luerssen Australia.

The Project Configuration Officer is responsible for the Configuration Management of Luerssen Australia projects. The role will predominantly support Phase 1 activities, but there could be instances where the role will be required to support other projects.

Requirements of the role

• Complies with Configuration Management processes, roles and responsibilities and meet needs for Configuration based on Standards and Contractual Requirements.
• Complies with the Configuration Management Plan and with the five functions of CM; Planning & Management, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Verification and Audit.
• Support the Configuration Engineers as directed by the Configuration Manager including but not limited to; ensuring Identification, release and revision of CIs, metadata relationship management, and strict data integrity.
• Ensures configuration baseline management has been achieved and maintained by performing checks and audits of systems.
• Support the Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) Plan preparation and Configuration Baseline validation activities.
• Maintain the configuration of the DMS at all times in compliance with company procedures, and any project specific client requirements ensuring a complete audit trail.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of project QA and Configuration audits, rectify deficiencies and implement improvements, as required.
• Identifying and implementing improvements within the Configuration Management processes.
• Provide guidance an advice on methods, procedures, standardisation and requirements to the project, client, contractors and third parties.

Accreditations & qualifications

• Suitable configuration management, or information/record management qualifications would be highly regarded but not essential in lieu of appropriate work experience.
• Engineering degree or relevant engineering CM experience highly regarded.

Skills & experience

• 5 years+ Configuration, Records or Information Management experience (essential)
• Proven working knowledge of electronic document management systems such as Siemens TeamCentre (essential)
• Worked within a large dynamic project organisation (essential)
• Demonstrated knowledge of configuration management processes and requirements (highly desirable)
• Experience within a manufacturing environment with technical or industrial products (highly desirable)
• Operational knowledge of CMT-U and/or similar CM tools (highly desirable)
• Working knowledge of systems engineering standards and processes (highly desirable)
• Strong core IT skills with advanced MS Office, and intermediate excel (essential)
• Project Coordination skills (desirable)
